About the API:
A Universally Unique Identifier (UUID) is a 128-bit number that identifies information in a computer system.
This version uses a pseudo-random number generator to generate the UUID. It’s very simple to use. Every bit of the string is total “randomly” generated.
This API will provide instantly a randomly generated UUID for your projects.
UUIDs are widely used in part because they are highly likely to be unique globally, meaning that not only is our row’s UUID unique in our database table, it’s probably the only row with that UUID in any system anywhere.
The main advantage of using UUIDs is that you can create a UUID and use it to identify something, such as a row in a database, with near certainty that the identifier will not exist in another row in your system or anyone else’s. UUIDs used by completely unrelated companies or organizations can be referenced together without duplication.
Besides the number of API calls per month, there are no other limitations.
The UUID Generator API does not require any parameters for the GET request. Simply calling the endpoint will return a new UUID each time.
Common use cases include database row identification, session tokens, and unique identifiers for resources in distributed systems, ensuring global uniqueness across different applications.
Users can store the UUID in databases as primary keys, use it in API requests to uniquely identify resources, or incorporate it into URLs to ensure unique resource identification.
The UUIDs are generated using a secure random number generator, which ensures a high degree of randomness and uniqueness, minimizing the risk of duplication.
The response data contains a single key, typically labeled "uuid", which holds the generated UUID string. This key is essential for identifying the generated identifier.
The UUID Generator API is designed to always return a valid UUID. Therefore, users should not encounter partial or empty results. If an error occurs, it will be indicated by an appropriate HTTP status code.
